LUCILLA "LUCY" NAJERA
juez de paz
RECINTO N.° 5

ACERCA DE
JUEZ NAJERA

On the bench, Judge Najera has delivered real results for the people she serves:

Community Partnerships
Built strong relationships with groups such as the District Attorney’s Office, El Paso Police Department, FBI, and local nonprofits to connect families with resources on bullying, mental health, drug prevention, and more.
Representing All Constituents
If Re-Elected, Judge Najera Will:
Keep Courts Fair and Accessible
Judge Najera believes JP courts belong to the people, not the lawyers. If re-elected, she will continue to ensure that every person who walks into her courtroom is treated with dignity and respect. Her focus will remain on fairness, listening to both sides, and making decisions rooted in facts and the law.
Reduce Backlogs and Speed Up Resolutions
Caseloads in her court have nearly doubled in recent years, but Judge Najera has kept the system moving efficiently. If re-elected, she will build on her proven record of reducing backlogs and ensuring timely resolutions. Families and neighbors deserve justice without unnecessary delays, and she will continue to deliver it.
Lead with Integrity and Community Values
As a lifelong El Pasoan, Judge Najera’s heart and soul are rooted in this community. If re-elected, she will remain a humble servant-leader guided by fairness, compassion, and unity. For her, being Justice of the Peace has never been about titles — it has always been about serving the people.
Strengthen Support for Youth and Families
Judge Najera knows that truancy cases aren’t just about punishment — they’re about helping students and families get back on track. If re-elected, she will expand partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and community leaders to provide real resources that address the root causes of truancy. Her goal is to keep kids in school, families supported, and futures brighter.
Advocate for Neighbors Beyond the Bench
Service doesn’t stop when the gavel falls. If re-elected, Judge Najera will continue helping residents connect with resources like home health care, title transfers, and neighborhood improvements. She believes a Justice of the Peace should not only serve in the courtroom, but also stand shoulder to shoulder with neighbors to improve the quality of life across the precinct.
